You may
have heard about our plans to move Weston Library from its current
location, on The Boulevard, to the ground floor of the revamped
town hall.
The move is part of a £9.7million improvement project
aiming to make your council services easier and quicker to
access.
The new library
will offer a purpose-built facility fit for the 21st century giving
more floor space; easier access as all the library will be on one
level; whilst importantly maintaining all of its current
facilities.
The new library
will benefit from:
- increased shelving space allowing room for
more of your favourite reads
- dedicated children’s and young people’s zones
separate from quiet adult areas
- larger local studies area, to accommodate all
of our resources and materials
- self service kiosks which have proved to be
very popular in other libraries across North Somerset, helping
us serve you better
- 34 computers for public use - so you can
study or simply browse the internet
The building in
The Boulevard, which houses the library at the moment, is important
in the local landscape and we will work with future users to make
sure its historical integrity and façade are preserved.

hall
