We provide a library based archive and record
service for North Somerset.
We do this with the help of the Taunton based
Somerset Archive and
Record Service which provides an archivist who visits libraries
across the district once a month.
The office was established to locate, protect and give public
access to records relating to the historic County of Somerset and
has 1000 year old archives.
Its archivist is available on the following days at the following
locations between 11am to 1pm and 2pm to 3.30pm:
The archivist offers the following services:
- help to research family, house and local history
- provide information on the material held in the archive
- bring copies of documents for study purposes or even original
material - at the discretion of office staff.
You can also search the
Somerset Record
Office online catalogue which is updated each month.
If you would like material brought from its headquarters you will
need to make an appointment with the archivist by midday on the day
prior to your visit.
