Sharing books helps your child become a confident and
eager learner even before they start school.
This pack builds on Bookstart
for babies and reinforces the importance of stories,
songs and rhymes in building language skills.
Your child will get their Bookstart
Treasure Pack when they are three to four years old
from their nursery playgroup or other early years
setting (only one per child). If your child doesn’t
attend a group please ask at
your local library.
The pack is only suitable for children aged three years and
above and contains:
- Two picture books – wonderful to share with your preschooler
(titles vary)
- Treasure: A Book of Ideas
- – full of top tips and guidance about
sharing books and having fun together, plus a £1 book token.
- My First Marks
- – a pad for you and your child to make
marks, draw and write in together
- Colouring pencils – so you can both get started with mark
making right away
- A messenger bag – perfect for your three to four year old to
wear
Remember as a library member
children have a great choice of books to borrow and can take
part in Bookstart
Rhymetime, Children's
story times and join the Bookstart Bear
Club.
