We maintain a range of sports pitches and fine turf
across the district which are hired out to clubs on a seasonal or
on-off basis.
We maintain them so they can be used during the playing season -
except in extreme weather conditions – and are safe for users.
We maintain both types of surfaces in a way which takes into
account the local ecology. We avoid the use of chemical fertilisers
and pesticides unless absolutely necessary.
We also upgrade pitches when and where we can, this includes
installing land drainage and listening to recommendations of
sports' governing bodies.
We also ask you to not use any of these sites for golf practice
and to keep dogs off them as both activities do cause damage.
We aim to maintain ornamental fine turf to an appropriate
standard taking the local ecology into account.
We do not look after pitches which are managed by local clubs or by
town and parish councils.
