We run nationally recognised courses that will
train you to become a swimming pool lifeguard.
These courses are run by the
Royal Life Saving Society's
(RLSS) the governing body for lifesaving and lifeguards in
the UK.
The course teaches life saving, life support and water safety
techniques. On passing the course you will be awarded the National
Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
Before you are allowed to join the course you must be able to
perform the following exercises:
- climb out of the pool without using the steps
- surface dive to the deepest part of the pool
- swim 50m in less than a minute
- swim 100m continuously on your front and then your back
- tread water for 30 seconds.
The courses will be held at
Churchill
Sports Centre on the following dates:
- Saturday 14 until Thursday 19 February 2009
The sessions cost £200 or £125 for concessions. For more
