FitFamilies4Life is a free fun and friendly
programme specially designed to help families get fitter, healthier
and happier together.
It is an effective 10 week programme that uses techniques
developed by health experts to help families learn about food and
discover fun ways to get fit. Sessions will run at schools or
leisure centres once a week for one hour.
If your child is aged between five and seven years and you and
your child can attend one session a week for 10 weeks this course
could be for you. Siblings up to the age of 11 can also
attend.
Sessions include:-
- how much fat is healthy to eat.
- how to read food labels and what they mean.
- Is too much sugar bad for us?
- Why are children and adults struggling to maintain a healthy
weight?
- How can we eat healthily and still have treats?
- How to make physical activity fun.
- Fun activities that you can enjoy as a family at any
time.
All sessions are interactive and include multi-skill games, food
and ball games, scavenger hunts and assault course
activities. The programme is run and supervised by qualified
leaders.
