Challenges

Why not set yourself a challenge or enter an event to help motivate you to be more active?

Bingo Challenge

The new Bingo Challenge is the perfect way to take small steps towards a healthier and more active life.

All you need to do is pick up or print your bingo card and cross off each activity box as you go.  The activities promote good health and wellbeing, such as eating breakfast every day, exercising whilst watching TV or visiting a local park for a stroll.

The challenge has an Olympic theme.  You can complete eight boxes for a bronze award and another eight for the silver level.  To achieve the gold award participants must sign up to a London 2012-inspired initiative - the Gold Challenge.

To join in download the Bingo card (pdf, Oct 11, 217KB) or pick one up at your local library or leisure centre.

For more information contact the Sport and Active Lifestyles team.

Team Step Challenge

Go4Life brings you an exciting team walking challenge that is an ideal way to get active, raise money for charity and have fun with friends or work colleagues.

Your challenge is to walk to Land's End - although you won't have to actually leave North Somerset!

Simply get your free step counter and walk the equivalent distance of 180 miles.  Wear your step counter whenever you go for a walk and work as a team to reach the target.  Keep track of your team's total steps using your progress chart.

Count up the steps you walk all day every day whether it is to the shops, to work, to visit your friends and family or by attending one of the organised health walks in North Somerset.

Your step counter will help motivate you to get out and walk more knowing you have a specific goal!

Download the Team Step Challenge leaflet (pdf, Sep 10, 291KB) and progress chart (pdf, Sep 10, 64KB) or pick up from your local library or leisure centre to get started.  For more information, or to get a free step counter contact our Sport and Active Lifestyles team.

Completed charts should be sent to our new Sport and Active Lifestyles address.
