Getting Active

You do not have to play competitive sport or even join a gym to be active.

You can get many benefits from getting involved in physical activity.  By including a 30 minute walk into your daily routine, for example, you will improve your fitness levels and lower your risk of illness.

Whatever activity you choose you should aim to:

  • breathe a little faster
  • feel a little warmer
  • feel your heart beating a little faster
  • feel comfortable and still be able to talk

ActiveWorkplaces4Life offers workplaces the opportunity to become more active, giving employees the chance to start up an eight week funded physical activity session of their choice.

We also organise a number of health walks across North Somerset, open to anyone wanting to build some physical activity into their everyday lives.  The walks vary in length and take from 30 minutes to one hour.

Our Healthy Lifestyles course is aimed at anyone who wants to be more active, offering lots of tips, activities, new skills and useful information to help people make healthy lifestyle changes.
