Cycle Around the World on the Strawberry Line
Sunday 20 June 2010 10am-4pm (last start time 2pm)
To register to take part in this FREE family event for all
abilities complete the
Cycle Hunt registration form (pdf, Apr
10, 91KB)
You can return the registration form by email, fax or post
(details are on the form).
Once we have received your form we will email you or send the
instructions, route map and answer form through the post.
Please remember to bring these with you to use on the day.
How does the event work?
The idea of the
event is to find the 'cycle around the world' clues along the route
between Yatton and Winscombe station and record the answers on the
answer form.
Participants can start at Yatton or Winscombe Station. To
get from each station, just follow the signs along the route or use
the
Strawberry Line Map provided.
Please note that the listed proposed route for future
development on the map at Sandford is now complete, so please take
this route. The correct route is also signposted along the
Strawberry Line.
What is the distance of the
event?
You can start from either Yatton or
Winscombe station; the route between each station is approximately
seven miles one way. You have the option of starting and
finishing at the same station (14 miles) or finishing at a
different station (seven miles). If you fancy a longer ride you can
continue all the way to Cheddar, although the hunt clues are only
between Yatton and Winscombe. The hunt is not a race and you
can start anytime between 10am and 2pm to make sure you are
finished by 4pm.
What can I win?
Everyone who registers and
completes the hunt by 4pm will receive a free gift and
certificate.
To take part you MUST
- Register by completing and returning the
registration form Entries close at 3pm
on Friday 18 June 2010. If you turn up on the day without
registering we cannot guarantee that we will provide a free gift
and certificate.
- Bring the instructions, route map and answer form with you on
the day so you can start straight away. You will receive
these once you have registered.
- Bring a bike with you! Walkers and joggers are welcome,
however, please be aware that there will be a lot of cyclists on
the route.
