Food safety

It is important when handling and preparing food to do it safely.

This will make sure your food is not dangerous to eat.

Precautions include making sure hot food is properly cooked and piping hot all the way through to the centre.

You should always wash you hands before handling food, and again after you touch raw meat.

Separate chopping boards or preparation areas should be used for vegetables, cooked meat and raw meat.

Follow the clean as you go method to make sure your food preparation area is kept free from clutter.

Use suitable food friendly anti-bacterial products on food preparation surfaces to help reduce the risk of bacteria.
