There are great benefits to joining Go4Life and pledging
to lead a more active and healthy lifestyle.
You will look and feel better as well as reduce your risk of
developing diseases such as heart disease and diabetes.
Getting
an active
lifestyle does not mean you have to join a sports team, or even
go for a run, you just need to do something which gets you slightly
out of breath, and increases your heart rate, for 30 minutes.
Go4Life aims to get North Somerset residents committed to doing
these sorts of activities at least three times a week, but you can
aim to do 30 minutes up to five times a week.

It is also important to eat a healthy balanced diet with a
variety of foods including plenty of fruit and vegetables, starch
such as wholegrain bread, pasta and rice, some protein-rich foods
such as meat, fish, eggs and lentils and some dairy. It should also
be low in salt sugar and fat, especially saturated fat.
