The North Somerset Property Accreditation Scheme
improves private rented accommodation and benefits both landlords
and tenants across North Somerset.
The scheme is free to join, has been developed for landlords by
landlords and is administered by North Somerset Council and
the Accreditation Steering Group.
The scheme looks at the physical quality and management of private
rented accommodation and then awards an accreditation
status. It means that good quality properties that are well
managed and maintained are recognised.
There are two levels of accreditation:
• "Accreditation" which is entry level
• "Accreditation Plus" the higher standard
We have compiled a list of the
accreditation scheme standards (pdf,Jul
10, 89KB) to show which areas are assessed. Landlords
and agents will also need to follow the
West of England Code of Good Management
Practice.
Once accreditation has been awarded, landlords will be able to
benefit from
incentives and discounts as part of the
scheme.
These have been offered by companies across North Somerset,
including discounts with electricians, plumbers as well as DIY
stores and energy assessors.
To apply you need to complete an
application form (pdf, Jul 10,
154KB) and send it to the address below.
