Your benefit will usually start from the Monday
after we have received your completed claim form.
However, this will depend on how quickly you send
us all the information we need and how busy we are at the time of
your application.
We will pay your council tax benefit straight into your council
tax account and send you a revised bill showing any remaining
amount you have to pay.
Housing benefit will either be transferred straight into your bank
account, sent to you in a cheque or handed directly to your
landlord.
