Housing and Council Tax Benefit are available to help
you meet the costs of running your home.
You may be able to claim them if you are on a low income, Income
Support, Jobseekers Allowance or Pension Credit.
We've introduced a new way of working out Housing Benefit for
tenants in privately rented property - find out more in our
Local Housing Allowance (LHA) section.
Housing and Council Tax Benefit are specifically aimed at paying
your council tax and rent and the amount you receive is dependent
upon your individual circumstances.
At present our benefit operations are carried out by our
partners Liberata who will run the
service until 2009.
