Warm Front is a Government-funded scheme which can pay
for heating and draught-proofing improvements in private
rented housing.
The scheme offers grants of £3500 for private tenants
in receipt of certain benefits, to receive heating, insulation and
draught proofing measures.
This amount increases up to £6000 for the installation of an oil
central heating system.
The scheme runs its own Benefit Entitlement

Before any work is carried out a surveyor will be allocated to
assess the property and the occupiers financial
circumstances.
Once any proposed work has been identified in a privately rented
property the landlord will need to complete a permission form
allowing work to proceed. The landlord will also agree not to
increase the rent within one year for insulation and two years for
heating unless a normal rent review is necessary.
