We provide help and advice for private
tenants and landlords across North
Somerset.
This includes information on deposits, rents and access
rights and we investigate allegations of harassment
and illegal eviction.
Harassment is a criminal offence and occurs when a
landlord or agent interferes with the peace and comfort of a tenant
or occupier.
Illegal eviction is another criminal offence where a
landlord or agent illegally deprives, or attempts to deprive, a
tenant or occupier outside the correct legal procedures.
If found guilty they can receive a maximum £5000 fine or
two-year prison sentence.
We can also mediate between landlords and tenants to try
and help resolve certain disputes.
This service is available from the
Town
Hall in Weston-super-Mare between Monday and Thursday from 9am
until 5pm and on Friday 9am until 4.30pm.
For further information or to make an appointment contact
our

If you have a problem outside normal office hours please

24-hour national helpline on 0808 800 444.
