Heating

Heating should be available to tenants at all times in a rented property and must be under their control.

Landlords must provide tenants with a fixed heating appliance and electrical appliances must have a dedicated socket.

The appliance should be capable of maintaining a temperature of 21C with an outside temperature of -1C in each part of the property.

However, this may not be possible due to poor insulation but grants are available with further information available from our Housing Renewals Team on 01934 634 931.

If you are a tenant and unsure about whether you have sufficient heating or insulation contact our Complaints Officer on 01275 884 385.

Alternatively, make an appointment for a property inspection through our Private Rented Housing Team on 01934 426 786.
