We can provide additional assistance to complement the
disabled facilities grant in the form of adaptation support
assistance.
This discretionary assistance is available to homeowners
and tenants under our Housing Renewal Assistance Policy.
It can sometimes be given in conjunction with a disabled
facilities grant and considered for the following:
- Where the cost of adaptation is above the maximum disabled
facilities grant limit of £25,000
- Where additional work is needed which cannot be included within
the mandatory disabled facilities grant criteria but would improve
the heath and well-being of a Disabled person
- Where urgent works are required under the disabled facilities
grant but which need to be carried out quickly due to an
applicant's medical condition
- Where feasibility work including sketch plans and surveys
are required to fully evaluate a proposed scheme of housing
adaptations
A maximum of £10,000 is available under adaptation support
assistance including £1500 for feasibility work.
