Nightstop needed

Date: 07/11/2012

We are working with Weston YMCA to prevent young people from becoming homeless.

Nightstop is an initiative aimed at providing temporary accommodation for 18-24 year olds, one night at a time.

If you live in North Somerset and want to help prevent a young person from becoming homeless then the scheme would like to hear from you.

Nightstop works by placing a young person in the home of a volunteer host for one night at a time.  The host needs to be able to offer a spare room, an evening meal, breakfast, use of washing facilities and if possible be able to drive.

In return, hosts receive £15 for each host night and for relevant travel expenses.

Nightstop has been successfully operating in neighbouring parts of Somerset since January 2011 with hosts accommodating over 70 young people.

If you would like to take part in the North Somerset scheme then please contact the Weston YMCA on 01934 629787 or e-mail Robert Penney at info@wsmymca.org
