Warm Streets in North Somerset

Date: 11/06/2009

Help and advice on how to keep your home warm and reduce utility bills will be available in Nailsea next week.

Pop along to the Nailsea Disability Initiative Centre in Crown Glass Place, (next to Parsons bakery) Nailsea, next Friday, 19 June between 9.30am and 3.30pm and speak to our Home Energy Efficiency officer.

And information about an insulation scheme that people can benefit from will soon be dropping onto the doormats of households in the area.

The Warm Streets project will be sending out letters later this month to homes in the areas of Backwell, Nailsea and Yatton offering free or discounted loft and cavity wall insulation, as well as energy advice and benefits checks.

The Warm Streets team will also be knocking on doors to encourage residents to take up the insulation offer, which will also help people to keep cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Many aren’t aware of just how much they can save through insulating their home – these simple measures can reduce heating bills by one third.

You can get more information by calling Warm Streets on 0800 512012 or contact Kim Herivel, Home Energy Efficiency Officer at North Somerset Council on 01934 426 686 or email kim.herivel@n-somerset.gov.uk.
