We are working to improve the quality and access
to and increase the quantity of decent housing across North
Somerset.
The latest independent
Audit Commission report into our housing service judged it to
be "good" saying it "exhibits many strengths" and is delivered by
"skilled, committed and well-motivated" staff.

Housing inspection and
report page or download the Commission's
Strategic Housing Service - North Somerset Council report.
We work with private landlords and housing associations to
increase the amount and improve the management and standards of
affordable housing.
We co-ordinate or work with them and our other partners through
local and regional partnerships and the strategies and plans we use
to help provide decent and safe housing.
As part of our services we offer advice and guidance for the
homeless and those in fear of losing their homes.
Under certain circumstances, we can help find homes and for
those unable to afford one we can help with housing benefit.
We can help find supported housing for those in need and help
certain people continue to live independently and remain in their
homes by providing the adaptations, improvements and repairs their
properties need.
We have a range of sheltered homes for sale for older people who
would like support in order to continue living on their own.
We also provide home energy efficiency advice to help reduce
fuel bills and make homes more comfortable. |
