Policy GDP/3 of the
North Somerset Replacement Local Plan
requires proposals for new dwellings and other types
of developments to demonstrate how the building has been
designed to minimise its energy requirements.
In addition policy GDP/3 requires 15% of the energy
requirements of all new dwellings and other developments of 1000m2
or more to be provided through the use of microrenewable or
low carbon technologies on site.
Following a consultation exercise which ended 30 May 2008 we
have prepared
detailed guidance of how this policy will be
interpreted and implemented.
