National Grid is proposing the construction of a
new electric transmission line between Bridgwater and
Avonmouth.
Consultation Stage 1 on route corridor options, which is where
the line will go, closed to the public on 23 July 2010.
A second stage of public consultation on the preferred route
corridor will take place before an application is submitted to the
successor of the Infrastructure Planning Commission in 2012.
We are not a consultee and will not be the authority
that makes the final decision for these proposals.
Our
response to Consultation Stage 1 was agreed by the Planning and
Regulatory Committee on 21 July 2010
We are represented on the Hinkley C Connection Group, which
is a group of councillors and agencies set up to
receive information and consider the impact of the proposals.
