We can give you informal advice on whether
you need planning permission and help you make the most out of your
planning application.
Currently there is no charge for this service and it can often
save you time and money in the long run as we can offer objective
advice on whether your proposal is worth pursuing.
Sometimes permission is not needed as household proposals can be
covered by
permitted development rights. If you are unsure you can
complete the
enquiry form and we will write back to you advising you as to
whether permission is required.
The rules are changing with effect from the 1 October 2008, the
planning portal have produced an
interactive house which will detail the new rules
However, constraints such as
Article 3s and
4s and planning conditions which have removed permitted
development rights can complicate matters.
Unfortunately, we can't tell you if an application will be
successful as decisions are only made once a planning application
has been submitted,
validated
and formally considered.
Planning laws and regulations are complex and we can only give
simplified general explanations via this website.
Therefore, you are strongly advised to contact
Development Control on 01275 888 811
about any specific proposals. Alternatively there is a wealth of
information about the planning system available on the
Planning Portal
website.
