We have a duty to ensure all kinds of building
works are carried in accordance with the Building Regulations
within North Somerset.
If any building work does not comply with these regulations you
may served with a notice requiring you to undertake improvement
works.
You may also be fined. For example, if you do not submit an
application for the works or you fail to notify us at various
stages throughout the period of works.
We are in charge of ensuring structures within the district are
safe and do not pose a danger to the public.
If you are the owner of a building which is considered dangerous
and you fail to remove the danger we may apply to a Magistrate to
order you to do so.
We are also responsible for ensuring demolitions are carried
safely and within certain guidelines.

made safe.
