We are committed to improving our range of
planning services within North Somerset.
As a result our services are assessed against the Government's
Best Value Performance Indicators (BVPI) standards which
measure the speed of our planning decisions and the way our
decisions are made.
For further information we also have a
Development Control Charter which outlines how we handle
planning applications.
For 2008/9 we are aiming to take decisions on at least 68% of
all major applications within 13 weeks.
These include more complex, larger applications involving more
than 1000m2 in floor area, 0.5 hectares in size or 10 or more
homes.
For 2008/9 we are aiming to determine at least 73% of minor
applications - where applications involve less than 10 homes or
minor commercial properties - within eight weeks.
We aim to decide at least 86% of other applications, including
small extensions, houses and advertising, in less than eight
weeks.
