Looking at and commenting on planning applications.

We have prepared a simple guidance note to explain how to do this. This document is called 'How to look and comment on planning applications ' and explains how to use our online planning applications search facility

The need for planning permission.

The Planning Portal have produced an interactive house which will explain what building works will require planning permission and which ones are permitted development. There is also a guide to the planning system for small businesses. If you are unable to findthe answers you are looking for the planning portal have also prepared a list of frequently asked questions

If you cannot find the answer you are looking for or you require additional advice then for a fee we can give you written advice about whether you need planning permission.

We have prepared a guide to explain the service and the required fee. Homeowners should download our Householder enquiry form.

Pre-application service

We offer a pre-application advice service. There is normally a fee for this service and we have produced an advice note which explains these charges and the service that we provide.

Please note that from the 1 June 2011 we have introduced new charges for requests for written advice relating to conservation or listed building consent only.

We can also help you to submit a valid planning application.
