| The planning system and applications help decide what
is built within North Somerset.
Good planning ensures the right things are built in the right
place without causing harm to the environment or people.
If you want to build or make certain changes to a property, change
land or building use or carry out works to your land then you may
need planning
permission.
To submit an online planning application please use the national
planning portal
website, where you can find the application forms and a wealth of
additional guidance. Alternatively, you can also download and print
a planning form which can
be submitted via the postal system.
We will not accept applications unless we receive the relevant
information with further details available on our
Validation
Checklist page.
You can also search for valid application details online
by using our
Search
& Submit facility.
Unfortunately, due to staffing issues and high postal volumes
there is currently a delay in putting application information on
our website.
We are trying to resolve this issue as soon as possible and like
to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
All our decisions are based on planning regulations and policies
and made by our officers or councillors on
our planning
committees.
Our services are assessed against the Government's
Best Value
Performance Indicators (BVPI) standards with further details
available via our Performance
page.
For further information about planning visit the
