Most building
work will need Building Regulations approval.
This can include
loft conversions, extensions, new bathrooms, structural work,
drainage alterations, roofing work and underpinning.
There are some
exceptions but if you are unsure you should
contact us before
you start building.
You can submit
a Building Regulations application to us by
one of two methods:
You can download a
Homeowner’s guide to Submitting a building
regulations application (pdf, Aug 11, 196KB).
You can download, fill in, save and email our
application form to us if you have an
up to date version
of Adobe Reader.
For more
information as to how to do this visit our
how to apply electronically page.
You must make sure
you include the
correct fee for your application as we cannot register it
without the right payment. Cheques should be made payable to North
Somerset Council. Do not send cash in the post.
Alternatively you
can pay by debit or credit card by phoning our reception team on
01934 426 666. You will need to provide information so that we can
link the payment to the Building Regulations application.
You can submit
applications during normal office hours in person at the
Town
Hall in Weston-super-Mare. Cash, cheque or credit card
payments are accepted.
Please note that
this is a separate process to applying for
planning approval.
