We make sure building work in North Somerset meets the
legal requirements of the Building
Regulations.
These are national standards which apply to all types of
buildings, from multi-million pound commercial developments to an
extension to your home.
The Building
Regulations cover the health and safety of people in and
around the buildings, the conservation of fuel and power and access
for people with disabilities.
You can now apply for Building Regulations
electronically.
For more information as to how to do this visit our
how to apply electronically page.
We check and approve plans of proposed works, and then carry out
site
inspections of the work on site as it progresses.
We also:
- Regulate demolition
work on certain buildings to make sure that work is
carried out safely and causes minimum nuisance to neighbours
- Inspect dangerous
structures in order to prevent risk to people in or about the
structure
- We also provide an
Energy Rating Service (SAP) for domestic buildings. SAP is used
to check that new dwellings comply with Regulation L1A of the
Building Regulations and can also be used to provide greater design
flexability for domestic extensions.
We give a fast, efficient and cost effective service to
householders and major developers to produce high quality buildings
that comply with national standards.
Our Quality Management System complies with ISO 9001:2008 and
has been accredited by the British Standards Institution.
