Our scheme is available to 100% of homes across
the district. You can use it to recycle the following
materials:
- Aluminium foil - including takeaway
containers, which must be rinsed clean.
- Thin printed card, check to see if the
unprinted side is grey.
- Tins and cans - Steel or aluminium please
washe squash. Biscuit and sweet tins are also collected.
- Glass - All bottles and jars - please wash and
put the lids and caps loose in the green box.
- Paper - All types of paper including
newspapers, magazines, brochures, telephone directories and
catalogues, office and printed.
- Shoes - Tied in pairs - please put in a
plastic carrier bag to keep dry.
- Textiles - Must be clean, dry and in a plastic
carrier bag. We will accept all clothes and material, including
curtains and duvet covers.
At present we cannot recycle the following items through the
kerbside scheme:
Some of the items not collected in the green box can be taken to
our
recycling banks and recycling
centres for recycling.
An assisted collection service for elderly and disabled
householders is available upon request from
