Do you provide bins?
No. Please put your household rubbish in a traditional dustbin
or black bin bag and wrap broken glass and sharp items in
newspaper.

-
What time will my rubbish be collected?
Sorry - we can't promise a precise time but it will be collected
between 7.30am and 6pm on your specified collection day.

Why was my rubbish bin left?
Some bins can be dangerously heavy and if you overload your bin
we have to leave it behind.

-
My bin is damaged. Will you replace it?
We do not provide new or replacement bins. However, if you think
the collection contractor is responsible for any damage then you
must write to us explaining what happened and providing us with any
evidence. However, bins do deteriorate with age and damage caused
by fair wear and tear will not be compensated.

Why were some large items left by the
collectors?
If an item is too large to go in a dustbin we will not collect
it as part of our weekly service. However, we can collect your item
under our bulky waste service or you can take it to any of our
three recycling centres for free disposal.

I live over a shop and some of my refuse has been
left behind - why is this?
Special arrangements apply to waste from buildings which are
part-commercial and part-domestic. These properties are allowed two
bags or two bins of household waste. Any other waste is treated as
commercial waste which you must pay to have collected.

Do you collect commercial waste?
No. If you run a business you need to employ a local private
contractor. Please refer to your Yellow Pages or Thompson Local
directory for information on registered waste carriers.
