We are responsible for maintaining trees, hedges
and verges across North Somerset.
We fell or prune dead, dying, dangerous or overhanging trees for
safety and legal reasons following investigations.
If work is required for trees in conservation areas then we
provide consent for this to take place.
We make sure hedges are maintained by stepping in when
landowners fail to keep them in order. This is done to avoid hedges
overhanging the road or interfering with road users'
visibility.
We deal with complaints about high hedges which are affecting
the reasonable enjoyment of people's properties.
The maintenance of grass verges in rural and urban areas across
North Somerset is also our responsibility.
