Public toilets FAQs

I am disabled. Can I get a RADAR key to access the disabled facilities?

Yes. You can buy one at the normal national rate from our Weston-super-Mare Tourist Information Centre on the green by the pier, from any library, the Campus, the Healthy Living Centre or the Town Hall in Weston-super-Mare.

Why are some of your public toilets closed?

We close some public toilets in the winter months because they are not used very often out of season. Sometimes we have to close them because of vandalism or for emergency repairs and improvements. We never close a toilet unless we have to.

Can you repair a broken toilet?

Let us know what’s wrong and we will tackle the problem right away.

When do you clean toilets?

We clean all toilets at least once every day that they are open. Some have attendants who clean them when they are there.

Can you do anything about anti-social behaviour or misuse of your public toilets?

We work closely with the police in tackling anti-social behaviour. We choose strong fixtures and fittings to resist vandalism. If you witness any anti-social behaviour or abuse of our toilets please contact the police in the first instance.

I want to report a problem with a public toilet. What details do you need to know?

We need to know the nature of the problem, which block is affected - - male, female, disabled or unisex, if there are any electrical defects or flooding. If the problem is to do with anti-social behaviour, please call the police right away. If you can’t do this, give us the details and we’ll pass them on.
