What items of clinical waste will you collect?

We can collect your dressings and boxed needles and other sharp items. If you need any other medical equipment collected, please let us know when you contact us to request a collection.

Do I need to do anything before requesting a collection?

We need authorisation from your doctor or health adviser to collect any medical waste from your property. You will need to contact them and ask for this before contacting us to request a clinical waste collection.

How do I arrange a clinical waste collection?

You will need to contact our streets and open spaces team and tell them your:

  • full name
  • address including postocde
  • telephone number and email address if you have one
  • what type of items you need collecting

How do you collect clinical waste?

The NHS will supply you with a medical waste container which our specially trained staff will collect weekly.

I live in a residential home, can you still collect?

No, we don't collect from residential homes or day nurseries. You should talk to the manager of the property if you need this service.

Do you charge for this service?

No - this service is free providing we have the relevant authorisation from your doctor or health adviser.
