assisted collections FAQs

We offer an assisted collection service for residents who have difficulty presenting their waste or recycling for collection.

What does assisted collection mean?

If you have an assisted collection, a member of the crew will collect your waste and recycling from an agreed place on your property, and return your containers to that same place once they have been emptied.

Who can use this service?

This service is for residents who find it difficult to take their recycling or waste containers to the edge of their property.

Which collections can you help me with?

If you have an assisted collection, this applies to your food caddy, green garden waste bag, recycling box and wheeled bin or refuse sacks.

How do I arrange an assited collection?

If you need an assisted collection please contact our streets and open spaces team and tell them your:

  • full name
  • address including postcode
  • telephone number and email address if you have one
  • reason why you need an assisted collection

What happens after I've requested an assisted collection?

When you contact us to request an assisted collection, we will arrange a suitable time for a member of the waste management team or an area officer to come and visit you. They will help to suggest a suitable collection point for the crews to collect your containers from and run through the process with you.
