The North Somerset Landscape Character
Assessment is based on the analysis of the district's
landscape.
This supplementary planning document involves the systematic
analysis, classification and description of this landscape
identifying features which contribute to its character.
These features include an assessment of its ecology,
geology, topography and the human influences which have affected
the landscape and its character by area.
In doing this the document allows these qualities to
be understood and materially considered in the control of
development across North Somerset.
