We monitor residential developments and housing
completion rates across North Somerset and produce a Residential
Land Survey each year.
The Residential Land Survey provides a summary of the
number of new homes that are built each year across the
district.
We obtain the details of sites that need to be
surveyed from planning permission approvals. A visit is
made to each site to record how many houses and flats have been
completed, how many are under construction and how
many have not yet been started.
The survey includes both large sites (developments of
10 or more dwellings or with a site area larger than 0.5 hectares)
and small sites (sites with less than 10 dwellings).
The Residential Land Survey is an important document that is
used to monitor and review housing policies and inform the
Annual Monitoring Report.
