The Indices of Multiple Deprivation are the most
detailed way of looking at where the most deprived areas across
England are located.
The English Indices of Deprivation 2010 (ID2010) were published
by Communities and Local Government in March 2010. This
updates the previous release from 2007.
Deprivation is measured at small geographical areas called Super
Output Areas. There are 124 Super Output Areas in North
Somerset and 32,482 across England.
There are scores for each of the seven deprivation themes, which
are called domains:
- Income
- Employment
- Health
- Education
- Barriers to housing and services
- Crime
- Living environment
The scores for each super output area were then ranked from 1
which is the most deprived, through to 32,482 which is the least
deprived.
