Production of the Gypsy and Travellers
Sites Allocations DPD has halted following the revocation of the
Regional Spatial Strategy by the coalition government in May 2010.
The following stages had been reached.
A
pre-production brief was produced in
January 2009.
An Issues and Options document was then
produced for consultation from 11 May to 22 June 2009. This
document does not identify specific sites but put forward
various options and issues that should be taken into account
when identifying sites. Issues raised include whether
sites should be located in urban areas or on the edge of
villages, concentrated in one location or dispersed throughout
the district.
In addition any landowners were invited to submit
potentially suitable sites for consideration.
