We are responsible for the public slipway and water
permits for launching at Knightstone Harbour in
Weston-super-Mare.
Personal watercraft (jet skis) and sailing vessels (boats and
yachts) may only be launched from Knightstone slipway by users who
hold a water access permit.
Permit holders must familiarise themselves and comply with our
guidance notes.
To apply for a water access permit you must complete an
application form for launching at Knightstone
slipway and pay a fee:
£35 - annual single user (aged 16 years+)
£45 - annual family permit (two adults and up to
three children aged 16-18 years)
£35 + £6 per additional driver - annual multiple
user permit with up to four named drivers (aged 16 years+)
£10 - day single user (aged 16 years+).
All Knightstone slipway permit holders must maintain appropriate
third party public liability insurance to the minimum value of
£2,000,000 for the duration of the permit.
To apply for a permit, take your completed application form, fee
and proof of insurance to
Weston
Tourist Information Centre.
The slipway gate will be opened prior for two hours before
the high tide by our
Ranger Service.
Our services do not extend to privately-owned moorings,
slipways and marinas in North Somerset.
