Personal search

A personal search is a search of the local land charges register and does not include information from the Con29.

A personal search is not certified by a local authority and any compensation claim to inaccurate information has to be made through the Personal Search Company that completed the search.

The local land charges register and public register information is available to view for free at Castlewood reception, Clevedon.  Further information for the Con29 can be requested by contacting the departments.

Following the recent announcement from Defra that charging a fee for a personal search of the Local Land Charges Register is incompatible with the Environmental Information Regulations 2004(EIRs) and the underlying 2003 EU Directive, the government has revoked the current £22 fee by amending the Local Land Charges Rules 1977.
