Licensed premises noise

Noise from licensed premises is a common cause of complaint by neighbouring occupiers, especially during the warmer weather.

If you are being affected by noise from licensed premises, we have the power under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, to take action to abate and prevent a 'statutory noise nuisance'.

In addition all licensed premises must comply with the licensing objectives of the Licensing Act 2003, which includes prevention of public nuisance. If you are experiencing problems of noise from a pub or a club, please contact the Environmental Protection team.
