Demolition
work can cause problems for your neighbours, so you need to make
every effort to minimise any potential nuisance for
them.
We advise that you:
- send a letter to them before work starts to inform them of your
plans and what to expect
- keep them informed of your progress
- provide them with a contact name and number so that any
complaints or problem can be dealt with swiftly
Any dust, noise or smoke should be kept to a minimum with work
hours should restricted to weekdays only. Not
evenings, weekends or holidays.
Particularly noisy operations such as pile-driving may require more
stringent controls and pumps and generators should not be left
running overnight.
If noise problems do occur we can take legal action to control
them.
