We provide advice to enhance and conserve the North
Somerset landscape.
We design landscapes for new and exisiting council
developments, including agreements which secure contributions and
assets towards community needs as a result of development. These
are known as Section 106 agreements.
We also provide landscape advice
on development control
and planning policy matters,
including appeals and enforcement.
Landscape related policies and advice can be found in the
adopted North
Somerset Replacement Local Plan 2007 and the supplementary
planning document, the
North Somerset Landscape Character Assessment 2005.
Two further supplementary planning guidance documents:
- Agricultural Building Design Guidelines 2001
- Guidelines for Horse Related Development 2004
have been produced by
the Mendip Hills AONB
Partnership in association with the five member authorities.
These can be downloaded from the publications
section of their website.
They compliment the North Somerset Replacement Local Plan and
the AONB Management Plan.
