We are responsible for enforcing the laws covering the
welfare and transportation of livestock in North
Somerset.
This includes animals sold or displayed at auction,
livestock movement and relates to the control of
notifiable animal diseases in farm animals such as cattle, sheep,
goats, pigs and poultry.
Some of the diseases this covers include the following:
- Anthrax
- Foot and mouth
- Rabies
- Avian flu
However, our service does not cover diseases suffered by normal
household pets.
