Licences

We are responsible for licensing certain animals and animal-related activities in North Somerset.

These include:

• boarding and kennels for cats and dogs
• chickens
• dog breeding 
• dangerous wild animals
• horse riding establishments
• livestock health and welfare
• livestock movement
• performing animals 
• pet shops
• zoos

We inspect premises before we issue any licences to make sure the animals are kept in the best conditions and that their health is not put at risk.
