North Somerset Council has joined forces with two
specialist companies to ensure all its buildings, including
schools, are safe.
The council has signed Partnering Charters with health and
safety specialists OHS Ltd for asbestos management and consultancy
services and with property compliance specialists Dalkia FM for
property compliance testing, inspection, reporting and management
services.
Both of these contracts are designed to not only protect the
health and safety of school children, council employees and
visiting members of the public, but also to ensure full legal
compliance with statutory law.
"By pledging to fulfill these new innovative contracts all
parties are demonstrating their commitment to ensuring our
buildings remain safe for all those using them," said the council's
executive member for environment and asset management Cllr Carl
Francis-Pester.
"Working with just two partners to carry out all of our property
compliance issues is far more efficient and cost-effective than
having to deal with a number of different companies which has been
the case in the past."
