The assessment of premises is one of the first steps in asset management. This includes:

• Premises Information
  General Property Information.
  
  
• Condition Assessment
  Assessing the physical condition of the premises.  Further information can be found on the Condition assessment page. 
  
  
• Suitability Assessment
  A comparison of existing school accommodation with an accommodation model to determine shortfalls and surpluses of each room type.  The impact of unsuitable accommodation is also assessed in relation to Health & Safety and impact on curriculum delivery.  Further information can be found on the Suitability assessment page.
  
  
• Sufficiency Assessment
  Reviews the total areas and quantity/organisation of places within schools.  Further information can be found on the Sufficiency assessment page.

The Property & Asset Management team are responsible for the collection of this data and will use the information to develop property strategies, policies and programmes of work.  Schools should also develop their own property strategies using this data.  More information is available in the Premises Management section.
