Community learning networks

Learning networks are community owned and aim to enhance the lives of residents through supporting and encouraging lifelong learning.

Network members can be local people, community groups, voluntary sector organisations or statutory agencies.

Networks offer the opportunity to meet new people and find out more about the variety of organisations, events and learning activities that exist in your area

Our Learning Networks are

For organisations or individuals who work with adults with mental health difficulties and adults recovering from drug and alcohol addition:

  • Inclusive Learning Network

For organisations or individuals working with those living in targeted geographic neighbourhoods  where there are significant levels of disadvantage:

  • South Ward Learning Network
  • Clevedon Learning Network 
  • Worle and Milton Learning Network

Our Learning Networks role is:

  • To support the Community Learning Service and learning and training providers such as Weston College to plan and deliver training that:
    • Is ‘demand led’ so that it responds to the real needs of the community.
    • Has clearly defined progression pathways developed through partnership working and ongoing consultation.
    • Ensures adults are provided with an objective and high quality IA service to set them on the right path.
    • Helps adults acquire skills that will enable them to become active within the community and find employment.
  • To build links with schools to offer a wide range of family learning activities.
  • To work in partnership to ensure the best use of resources.
  • To identify community activists to become Learning Champions who will undertake Community Research projects.
